Campaign group Harborough Against Bullying is holding its first fun day this bank holiday weekend, with a range of entertainment planned.

The event, to be held at Welland Park Academy, is a joint venture between the school’s parent teacher association (PTA) and the campaigners.

Organisers have promised a ‘massive’ family fun day and are hoping for a good turnout.

The event will be held on Saturday and will run from 10am to 9pm.

A variety of entertainment will be on offer including a chance to wrestle in sumo suits, bungee trampolining, snake handling and quad biking.

The Harborough Against Bullying campaign was set up by town mum Marie King, after three of her four children experienced bullying at school.

It is the group’s first family fun day, and there are hopes it will be an annual event.

There will be live music on the day from 1pm and a raffle, with one of the prizes an England rugby training shirt signed by Northampton Saints star Courtney Lawes.

Entrance costs £5 for a family ticket (two adults and two under-16s), £2 for a single adult, and £1 for a single child, or concession.

Funds will go towards Harborough Against Bullying and the Welland Park Academy PTA Canopy Fund.
