Market Harborough Chamber of Trade & Commerce is planning its first business exhibition, The Market Harborough Business Expo.
It is being organised to encourage and promote closer collaboration and trading links between businesses in the Harborough district.
The free event is taking place on Thursday, October 17, from 10.30am until 3pm, in the Cromwell Suite at the Three Swans Hotel’s conference centre in Harborough.
To attend or to book an exhibition space, visit the website https://harboroughbusinessexpo.eventbrite.com.
The chamber’s president Pete Whelan said: “This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to promote their products and services to other businesses in the region. “The chamber is here to support business activity in the town and encourage closer collaboration of trade between companies too.
“With so many great businesses in the area, we believe this is the perfect opportunity for networking, sourcing and building closer ties in the local business community.
“If we can encourage more local trade between local businesses then in time we can hopefully generate more jobs in the Harborough area.”
The exhibition has three key features: exhibition space, pitching your ideas and a ‘trading wall’ to generate new referrals and build networks.
Exhibition spaces cost £10 for chamber members or £50 for non-members.
There will be two separate sessions with 30 spaces available in each session for pitching ideas. This is an elevator-style session with each business allocated 60 seconds to get their message or request across to the audience.
The trading wall allows attendees to pin their business card to the wall for all to see. If people are looking to make a particular kind of connection, they say so and potential partners will pin their card to the request.
