A presentation night held at the Coach and Horses pub in Lubenham on Tuesday night saw representatives from several community groups and deserving causes receive grants from the proceeds of last autumn’s Lubenham Scarecrow Weekend.

A total of £3,400 was shared out between the following successful applicants, all of who contributed to the event’s success; Lubenham Green for continuing maintenance, Lubenham War Memorial for cleaning, repaving and repairs to its wall, Harborough FM, Lubenham Allotments for fencing and a gate in Foxton Road, Lubenham Directory, the Lubenham Newsletter, Lubenham Mums and Tots, Tail and Trouble Craft Club, Parents of Lubenham School, the village’s All Saints Church, Foxton Scouts and Explorer Scouts.

Thanks were offered by all recipients of donations and appreciation was shown for all those who organised the weekend. This year’s event will be on September 13 and 14.
