Swimmers of all ages and fitness levels are being urged to take the plunge in aid of district charities and organisations.

Market Harborough Rotary Club is holding its fourth annual SwiMarathon at Harborough Leisure Centre from 4pm on April 5 and6.

Rotary president Janet Meek (centre, left) launched the publicity drive for the 2014 event at the leisure centre with swimmers and Rotarians on Saturday.

Teams of up to six people swim in a relay in one lane of the pool for one hour. It is not an endurance event but a fun swim.

Everybody taking part gets presented with a certificate, including a photograph of the team after their swim.

Teams will be entering from schools, businesses, families and friends, sports clubs and lots more.

There is still room for more teams. For further details, email swimarathon@rotarymarketharborough.org.uk.
