A company which helps adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues has opened a new base in Market Harborough.
Freedom Support Solutions, launched three years ago at Harborough Town Football Club, has now opened its new centre at Unit A1, Sovereign Park, off LathKill Street, in town.
It provides day support and supportive living in Market Harborough and provides activities to promote social inclusion. The company currently has 47 clients, nine permanent staff and works in partnership with lecturers and colleges.
The new base includes a state-of-the-art training kitchen, a wet room, cinema area, arts centre, woodwork area, ICT suite and allotments.
It describes itself as “a vibrant young company investing £900,000 in adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues over the next five years”.
In a press release, the company explained: “It is close to the town centre which enables us to provide support in accessing local community facilities including Harborough Leisure Centre, the library, local shops, the Job Centre and work opportunities.”
It opened the new base in July and will be holding an official grand opening later this year, on Thursday, October 2.
