Bookings are being taken for anyone who would like to take part in free adult cycle courses being held in Lutterworth this month.

Leicestershire County Council is inviting people to develop their confidence and skills when it comes to riding both on and off the road.

Peter Osborne, the county council’s Cabinet member for transport, said: “Our cycling courses cater for all levels, to give even the most inexperienced riders the confidence to get back in the saddle.

“As the summer draws closer these free courses will help you to get fit and save money by choosing to make a journey by bike.”

Sessions will be held at Lutterworth Sports Centre between 6pm and 8pm from this week.

The course offer comes the same month the Women’s Tour cycle event cuts through the town, which will be seen flying through Lutterworth on Thursday (May 8).

Equipment, including helmets and bicycles, will be available to borrow during the courses, subject to availability and a refundable deposit.

People can register their interest and book a place at choosehowyoumove@leics.gov.uk or by calling 0116 305 3179.
