Firefighters had to cut away the roof of a car after it left a motorway slip road, near Lutterworth, and went up an embankment.
Paramedics stabilised the female driver before fire crews started work to free her.
The accident happened along the slip road joining the M1 northbound at junction 20, Lutterworth.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 8.52pm yesterday (June 4), and crews from Leicestershire’s Southern Station and Lutterworth Station attended the incident. Three pumps attended the scene.
The woman was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, but her injuries are not thought to be serious.
The Highways Agency closed the slip road, and one lane of the motorway, during the rescue operation.
