Firefighters were called out to deal with the incident in Harborough.

Firefighters were called out to a flat in Harborough early this morning after a resident raised concerns over a water leak.

A fire crew from Harborough station attended Lathkill Street at 4.21am.

A resident was worried leaking water from a flat above could affect the electrics, a Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service control room operator explained to the Mail this morning.

The fire service would not ordinarily attend water leaks but will do so if there is a risk to the electrics and a person is not able to isolate their electrical supply, said the operator.

Firefighters carried out an inspection of the property and requested a plumber to attend, said the fire service daily report log.
