Firefighters were called out to remove a branch that was dangerously overhanging a road in town during the weekend.
A fire crew was called to Burnmill Road in town on Saturday at 1.52pm.
The town’s fire service said via its official Twitter account @LFRSmktharb36 :“A large branch was hanging down and blocking a road. Fire service removed the branch and cleared debris.”
On its Facebook page, the town fire service added: “We were called yesterday afternoon (Saturday) to the top of Burnmill Road to part of a tree that had been brought down by bad weather.
“The crew closed the road whilst it was cleared.”
Meanwhile, firefighters were called to Charley Close, off Farndon Road, in town yesterday (Sunday) at just after 7pm after a small fire was reported in the street.
Two pumps were in attendance. Fir trees and brambles were set alight after a waste fire accidentally spread to the foliage.
The firefighters used a hose reel and beaters to put out the flames, said the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service daily report log.
