An elderly man was airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in a road crash in Gilmorton.
The man was freed from the car by fire crews and treated for chest injuries at the scene of the accident shortly after 10am yesterday (Tuesday).
The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) said it was called out to the incident to provide pre-hospital care to give the patient the greatest chance of recovery.
It received the emergency call at 10.10am and landed at the scene of the incident a little over ten minutes later.
The WNAA said the man was put under general anaesthetic to allow the crew to control his breathing and provide adequate oxygenation.
He was then immobilised before being transferred to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire for further treatment.
His current condition in unknown, said a spokesman for the WNAA.
