Dog walkers are calling on Harborough Council to spruce up the dog run at a town park.
The fenced-off section at Welland Park, which is owned by the district council, is in need of repairs.
Some dog owners have contacted the Mail because they have heard rumours that the facility might be under threat.
A council spokesman said its future is secure but added: “The dog run is in need of maintenance as it becomes particularly affected by adverse weather.
“The council has applied for Section 106 funding to upgrade the facility and make it more sustainable.
“In the meantime, minor repairs and improvements will be made.”
Section 106 grants are made up of contributions paid by developers towards community infrastructure.
