THE COUNTDOWN is on for the relaunch of your new-look Harborough Mail.
The team at the Mail are working hard on new designs and new content to improve the newspaper in 2013.
The first edition of the relaunched paper will roll off the presses and hit the streets on Thursday, January 31.
A team of top Spanish designers responsible for working on national newspapers across the globe, including The Independent, have come up with some great, modern designs for the Mail.
Much like the Harborough Mail, Bates Butchers in town has a rich history and prides itself of being truly local.
And so it is a perfect fit that the Church Square butchers is offering to help with the Mail’s re-design relaunch day.
The company has kindly agreed to a promotional tie-in on the day – when the first edition of the new-look paper hits the street - by offering a special Harborough Mail sausage.
We have taken on board the comments made in a recent reader survey and will be making improvements to existing content and adding some new elements.
There are plans for a new leisure section, new puzzles, a regular nostalgia section, space for pictures taken by readers and a team of new columnists.
We have been really impressed with the potential columnists that have come forward willing to write on a diverse range of issues.
However, we are keen to ensure that readers are happy with the new paper and want to know what everyone thinks at every stage of the process.
Some readers will be asked to look at the new designs, and everyone will get the chance to have another say.
But whatever the final changes, people in the Harborough district can rest assured that we are committed to providing the best and most comprehensive local news, sport and leisure service in the area.
