A man with a passion for football, who has passed his love of the game onto his sons, turned 100 on Saturday.
Rowland Bromley was born in the house where he still lives, in Highfield Street, Fleckney.
He was one of 10 children, and he married Isabell Gamble in 1934. The couple had six children. Mr Bromley now has 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild. He played football for Leicester Boys and Fleckney Athletic and also cricket for Fleckney. His sons followed in his footsteps, playing football for Fleckney as well.
