Paralympian Sam Ruddock will be getting the Sport Relief mile underway in Harborough this Sunday (March 23) and people are being encouraged to come along to meet him.
Organisers behind The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Harborough confirmed today (Friday) that Paralympic athlete Sam will be attending as a VIP guest.
About 150 people have already signed up to run one, three, or six miles on the day, but there’s still time to bag a place, don a headband and enter the fun and games.
You may even get the chance to have you photo taken with Sam, who represented Great Britain in the Paralympics in London 2012.
In addition to meeting him and doing your bit for a great cause, there will also be the opportunity take part in some amazing sporting challenges from table tennis to basketball.
Before the start of the run there will be a mass warm-up led by ex-professional boxer Kelton Mckenzie.
A spokesman for the council said: “With all this and more the event promises to be great fun for all the family.
“Do your bit and get involved; it’s not too late to sign up online.”
To enter the Market Harborough event, visit the website www.sportrelief.com or pop along on the day.
