Harborough’s Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn will be the guest of honour next week for a town pharmacy’s first birthday celebrations.
The Market Harborough Pharmacy, located within Market Harborough Medical Centre in Coventry Road, has now been open for a year.
A spokesman for the pharmacy said this week: “We have been warmly welcomed by the residents of the town and the surrounding areas. We would like to thank all our customers for the support given to us as we continue to serve the community over seven days in the new NHS.”
It is celebrating its first birthday next Thursday, June 5, at 11am, by inviting the reigning champion of the Great British Bake Off, Harborough’s Frances Quinn, who will be kindly baking a special cake for the occasion and joining in with the celebrations.
The pharmacy added: “Our pharmacists Umi, Mark and Asha are committed to helping patients get the most benefit from their medication and they are loyally supported by our pharmacy team led by Jean, Tom, Lian, Catherine and Ed to ensure smooth running of the pharmacy.
“We provide many services for our customers including Emergency Hormonal Contraception (the morning-after pill), medicine use review, a new medicine service and our automatic repeat prescription management service which saves customers a lot of time.
“We offer a free delivery service and provide free weekly medication trays which have been of a great benefit to our customers who need assistance with managing their tablets or are less mobile.”
The pharmacy is now open seven days a week with opening hours of 8am to 11pm Mondays to Saturdays and from 8am to 6pm on Sundays.
“These extended opening hours have been extremely useful for customers who work office hours or commute from Market Harborough,” the pharmacy added, “We aim to continue providing excellent customer care and plan to expand in the future to include private flu vaccination. We are always available
to answer any queries or assist with any medication problems.”
