An author from the Harborough district is enjoying great success with her titles now being published as e-books, paperbacks and in large library print.

Following the success of her debut novel Shadow Across the Liffey last February, Ashby Magna writer Cathy Mansell saw her second title Her Father’s Daughter published last June.

And they are now making the step from electronic books into paper form.

Cathy, who was born in south Dublin, has gone from e-books straight into library large-print and Her Father’s Daughter has become one of only three books to go into paperback print with her publisher Tirgearr Publishing.

If that’s not all, she also has a third book on the way, due to be published in April.

A launch party to celebrate these successes is being held at Lutterworth Library in George Street on Friday, March 28, from 7pm-9pm.

Cathy said: “Following my success with Tirgearr Publishing, I’m delighted to announce that Shadow Across the Liffey and Her Father’s Daughter have been accepted by Magna large print for inclusion in libraries across the UK and Ireland.”

Both books are set in 1950s/1960s Ireland.

Shadow Across the Liffey is a romantic suspense and Her Father’s Daughter is a romantic mystery. Both books refer to controversial subjects of that period.

She added: “I’m thrilled that my publisher is bringing out paperbacks of both books to coincide with Magna large print.

“I know of one other author, who like me, launched from e-books straight into print, namely E L James, author of Fifty Shades of Grey.

“Her ranking on Amazon soon reached number one to became a best-seller, and was picked up by the big publishers. She’s now a millionaire.

“I don’t expect to be that lucky! However, I’m holding a book launch in Lutterworth Library to celebrate my success on March 28.”

Tickets cost £3 and can be booked by phoning 0116 305 3619. Refreshments are also included.

Shadow Across the Liffey was released in paperback on February 25 and will be released in library large print in June.

Her Father’s Daughter is being published in library large print this month and will be issued in paperback form in June.

Cathy’s third book, Galway Girl, is due for release by Tirgearr Publishing on April 29.
