Antique pocket watch with huge sentimental value stolen from Market Habrorough

A pocket watch more than 100 years old has been stolen during a burglary in town.

Police are now trying to trace the watch to reunite it with its owner.

The burglary took place at a house in Cromwell Crescent between 4 and 11.15pm on Friday May 6 and a safe with its content was stolen.

The pocket watch is said to be about 100 years old and was awarded after 25 years’ service with British Rail, it is also engraved on the back.

A nine carat gold dress ring with two diamonds on it and gold heavy duty men’s cygnet ring was also stolen during the burglary.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: “If you have been approached by someone trying to sell these items or you know someone who has recently acquired similar items then please get in touch.”
