What’s in a name? New pub is titled

A PUB set to be built in Harborough later this year appears to have been given a name.

Job vacancies being advertised at the Marston’s pub planned for Peaker Park off Rockingham Road list it as The Roebuck.

The Mail contacted Marston’s public relations firm on February 17 to find out the story behind the name but our enquiries were not answered in time for deadline for that week’s paper (February 23).

However a spokesman told us today (March 1) that the name had no particular relevance to Harborough.

Marston’s names all its pubs after animals or plants, he said.

The pub and restaurant development is expected to open in the summer and Marston’s says it will create about 75 new jobs.
