A 10-mile walk organised by a Harborough woman raised £1,726 for Cancer Research and was officially handed over to the charity on Sunday at The Red Cow pub in town.
Organiser Carol Tilley said the walk in October last year was attended by 22 people including two boys who were delighted to complete it. Carol, pictured above (right) with Jill Foxon from the charity, has been organising walks for 35 years and each year a different charity is chosen. She said: “A lot of people in town in the last year have lost their lives to cancer. If we can give someone a bit of extra time with their life, that is why we do it.”
