VIDEO: Harborough by the sea

FAMILIES enjoyed a day at the beach in landlocked Harborough.

Youngsters enjoyed borrowing buckets and spades to build sandcastles in giant sandpits on The Square.

And Welland Park played host to a variety of activities, including a mini Olympics.

Lee and Jen Carter, of Little Bowden, sent in pictures of their nine-month-old daughter Layla-Mae Carter playing in the sand.

If you have pictures of the event email them to ian.opray@harboroughmail.co.uk.

The event coincided with National Play Day - a Government backed charity initiative to encourage more youngsters to get active.

Events in Harborough were organised jointly between Harborough District Council and Harborough Improvement Team.
