VIDEO: A day out for mummies (and kids!)
DELIGHTED youngsters spent a day at the seaside in landlocked Harborough yesterday.
The Square underwent a transformation, with two big sandpits, palm trees, deckchairs, an ice cream van and a sphinx being placed in the town centre.
It was part of an Egyptian-themed family fun day organised by Harborough Improvement Team and hundreds attended despite threateneing weather.
The Egyptian theme included a colouring competition, a chance to learn hieroglyphics, and Egyptian mask-making and storytelling.
White scarab shapes were also stencilled in non-permanent paint on to pavements around town for a fun 'mummy' trail.
The event was sponsored by local firms Market Harborough Building Society, solicitors Lawson-West and Sainsbury's.
