Tragic marathon runner Claire to be buried next to her brother

CLAIRE Squires, who collapsed and died during the London Marathon, is to be buried next to her brother Grant, her mum has told the Mail.

Claire’s mum Cilla told the Mail’s Saffi Barham yesterday (Thursday) that the funeral is to take place at St Andrew’s church in North Kilworth on Wednesday.

Grant Squires died in 2001 following a drug overdose.

Cilla Squires said: “Claire was extremely devoted to her brother and is being buried alongside him. Maybe Claire and Grant can be together again now that Claire has left us.”

Mrs Squires spoke to the Mail as Claire’s fundraising total for The Samaritans approached the £1m mark.

As of 11am today (Friday), the total including GiftAid stood at £960,000.
