FIRE destroyed a tractor after straw became trapped in its engine compartment.

Firefighters from Kibworth were called out yesterday (Sunday) at about 12.30pm to Welham Lane in Cranoe after a report of a tractor being ablaze.

Two breathing apparatus and a hose reel were used to put out the flames and a total of three vehicles were sent out by the fire service to deal with the incident.

The cause was accidental after straw became trapped in its engine compartment, according to the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue daily report log.
