Tory chairman visits the area

A HIGH-ranking Conservative politician visited the Harborough area last week to meet constituents.

Grant Shapps, co-chairman of the Tories, was in MP Alan Duncan’s Rutland constituency, which covers part of the Harborough area.

Mr Shapps discussed political issues affecting the country and the party with party supporters at Nevill Holt Hall in the hamlet of Nevill Holt, near Medbourne.

He spoke about his previous experience as housing minster and his post-reshuffle position as co-chairman of the party.

Among those he met was the leader of the Conservative-led Harborough District Council, Cllr Michael Rook.
