CYCLISTS from Husbands Bosworth successfully completed a 145-mile ride around Leicestershire on Sunday to raise funds for charity.

Sam Caves and Steve Harwood, both aged 23, started the route at 6.30am and finished around 9pm, with about 11 hours cycling completed in that time.
Their route took the pair to the edge of all seven bordering counties of the county: Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire.
The pair have so far raised more than £300 for their three nominated charities; Dukes Barn, Over the Wall and the Leicester Clubs for Young People - the charities supported by the annual Kilworth Challenge event.
Sam said afterwards: “The support we have received has been great. We are happy with the amount raised, considering we didn’t announce the tour until very late but we will keep fundraising”.
They plan to do the tour again next year with a few tweaks based on the lessons learned from this year, including making sure the SatNav battery lasts for the whole route.
To sponsor the pair, visit the pair’s Facebook page or their Justgiving website.
