Takeaway opening hours application re-submitted

A TAKE-away in Lutterworth has resubmitted plans over its opening hours after an application to open until 1.30am attracted criticism.

Abdalla Khalifa, of Rivali in Central Avenue, submitted plans to open the take-away until the early hours at the weekend several months ago.

However, Lutterworth Town Council objected to the plan, saying that because Rivali was in a residential area the opening hours would not be suitable.

Mr Khalifa withdrew the plans.

Another scheme has now been submitted to Harborough District Council, which asks for permission to open the take-away until midnight between Monday and Saturday.

The original plan also attracted objections from people living near the site in Central Avenue.

Lutterworth Town Council is due to comment on the revised plans at a meeting on Monday (November 5). The consultation period on the revised application ends next Wednesday (November 7) and Harborough District Council will make its final decision after that date.

The full application can be viewed online at Harborough District Council’s planning portal.
