State of path on former rail route causing concern

The Brampton Valley Way

The Brampton Valley Way

Repairs to potholes at the Harborough entrance to the Brampton Valley Way will be considered in the new financial year, a council has said.

It comes after complaints over the state of the popular walking and cycling route, particularly at the Harborough end in Scotland Road.

The 16-mile route, which follows the old Harborough to Northampton railway line, is maintained by Northamptonshire County Council.

A spokesman for the council said: “We do not currently have any specific work planned for the Harborough entrance.

Potholes which are not an immediate hazard are scheduled for more permanent repair work and so we will be looking to add this section of the route to the program of works when funding becomes available in the new financial year.”

The council urged people to report potholes using the Street Doctor service at www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/streetdoctor.
