Singing group for people with memory loss

THE success of the Dementia Cafe in Harborough means it can branch out to provide another service for people with memory loss.

From September 12 and then every Wednesday in the month a separate singing group will meet to enjoy music.

Jean Kendall, who will be helping run the sessions, said: “We are aware how important music and singing can be to people with memory problems.

“This is an opportunity for our members and others to get together and enjoy themselves whilst using music to help recall the words, tunes and sometimes the memories of earlier years.”

The sessions will take place between 2 and 3.30pm in St. Dionysius Community Hall.

“Singing for Memories” is open to anyone with memory problems and their carers.

For more information and to book a place please phone Jean Kendall on 07970 657310.
