A SWIMMING marathon which has previously raised thousands for charity is taking place again this year.

The Market Harborough Swimarathon takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and March 17.

People can now register to take part in the team event.

The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Market Harborough. Last year more than 25 swim teams took part and £7,000 was raised.

Anybody can take part in the fun event provided they can make up a team of six who are prepared to swim in a relay of for an hour.

Last year the youngest swimmer was five and the oldest was in their 80s.

Money raised will go to local organisations.
