A MESSAGE to the future was sent by children from a Harborough school at the grounds of a pub in the town.

Pupils from Meadowdale Primary School buried a time capsule at the site of The Roebuck pub in Harborough.

Items that were included in the capsule were a Now 82 CD, a video made by the school of the time capsule project, a picture of Team GB athletes, a school summer dress, a copy of the Mail and letters and pictures by the pupils about the future.

Kerry Rodger, head teacher at Meadowdale Primary, said: “It was great to be involved in such a fabulous event.

“All the children showed a real passion for the time capsule activity and everyone was excited about coming along to the burial.

“We believe that it will certainly make an interesting viewing when dug up in 50 years’ time.”
