A PRIMARY school in Harborough is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the creation of a tapestry.

Ridgeway Primary Academy pupils from Years 5 and 6 worked on the tapestry together over two days.

They were helped in their efforts by Katharine Wright from the Leicestershire Craft Centre, which is situated in High Street.

The tapestry will commemorate 40 years of the school in the community.

Ridgeway Primary has also created an exhibition sharing its history over the last 40 years, which is available for people to see.

As part of the celebrations current and previous staff from the school will be celebrating the anniversary after school on Friday and with former pupils on the Saturday.
