School extends thanks for vicar’s help
A SCHOOL has extended its facilities for children there thanks to help from the community and a diocese offering them a home.
Hallaton Primary hase acquired new classrooms and a place for school dinners after the Rev Richard Curtis vacated the rectory earlier this year.
The school sought planning permission and with help from the PTA group, the community of Hallaton, parents and the diocese they have now extended their facilities.
School registrar Della Stones said children were previously having to eat school dinners at their desks but they now have a dining area at the rectory.
The rectory which has been decorated and refurbished still has an office for Mr Curtis.
Children and teachers are also now using the new area for art and music lessons and the garden provides them with an additional play area.
Parents and the community have helped to give life to the project and even got involved with painting walls in the new area while the PTA paid for an artificial surface in the garden.
