A FRANKIE Valli tribute act leapt from a plane at 13,000ft for a sky-dive to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Robin Maughan, from Harborough, took part in the challenge at Grange over sands in Cumbria with his friend Ben Johnson.

Mr Maughan, the lead singer in the Let’s Hang On tribute group to Frankie Valli, said: “We arrived early in our Cancer Research UK T-shirts and got ourselves all signed in and ready.

“We had to wait five hours due to high winds but we were determined to wait and see if the wind died down, and it did.

“We had an amazing jump as we were the last ones on the flight.”

The pair raised more than £2,000 in the jump, which took place on September 23.

People can still donate to the cause.
