Road closes for up to three weeks

ROADWORKS have started this morning (Monday, February 4) on a road off Harborough’s High Street.

Water mains transfer work is being carried out in the Bowden Lane and Burnmill Road area.

Severn Trent Water said in a letter to residents: “Our pipes have been servicing your local community for many years and in order to improve our system and to ensure we maintain the service we provide we are required to transfer customers’ supplies on Bowden Lane and abandon the existing main.”

The works are expected to last for three weeks.

After the job has been completed in Bowden Lane, parts of Burnmill Road and Coventry Road will then be closed for about two weeks.

Bowden Lane is being shut off from the car park entrance in Doddridge Road up to the High Street. Three-way traffic lights are in place at Bowden Lane/Burnmill Road /Doddridge Road.

If anyone has any queries, they can phone contractors Laing O’Rourke on 01332 288047.
