PUPILS at Kibworth High School donated a pile of presents to children at Rainbows Hospice.

The presents were collected by children at the school and were handed over to a representative from Rainbows on Tuesday, December 11.

Rainbows is a hospice that helps children who come there from the East Midlands. These children and young people are all affected by life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

They were handed over during a special assembly at the school where a representative from Rainbows told the children how their presents would help.

Back in November the school arranged for a Rainbows representative to speak to year seven pupils about the work and support the charity offers to the families of children with a life limiting illness.

Rainbows Hospice ambassador Sue Jones told pupils about the work that Rainbows do to support life-challenged youngsters and their families.

The pupils were then invited to donate presents and treats for distribution to the young people connected with Rainbows during its annual parties.

A list of suggested gifts was also given to the children at Kibworth High School which included selection boxes, Christmas crackers and shower gel.

The presents will be used at seasonal parties for these families during the festive period.

During an assembly last Tuesday a large selection of gifts was handed to Rainbows, who have asked that we pass on their grateful thanks to all pupils and parents for their generosity.
