Prize pooches in the frame for photo comp

Proud owners of prized pooches and cute canines are being invited to enter a pet portrait competition .

Photographer Nigel Ord-Smith has launched his inaugural Dog of the Year portrait contest.

The competition is free to enter and sessions, which are being held between now and the end of April, can be booked at Nigel’s studio in Marston Trussell by calling 01858 461770.

The competition is being supported by Cherry Hogg’s Dog Grooming, the Town and Country Veterinary Centre in Harborough, and Paws 4 Walking.

There will be an initial 20- to 30-minute session with the owners then returning for a pre-booked appointment to view their images and to select their entry.

There will be no obligation to buy images but entrants will have the opportunity to purchase from a specially selected range of products at their preview show.

First prize will be 24x16 inch framed image or canvas of the winning dog worth £395, with various runner-up prizes from the participating businesses
