Police and Crime Commissioner candidates: Suleman Nagdi (Ind)

Independent candidate Mr Nagdi believes the Police and Crime Commissioner should be the community’s liaison to the police.

He said: “I am standing as an Independent because I believe the independence of our police must be jealously guarded and kept away from party political agendas.

“I am standing to serve the people and not the interests of a political party.”

He has served as a voluntary member of the community for 25 years working on a range of issues including education, health and national security.

He has also brought community concerns to the attention of the police, sitting on various boards.
