THOUSANDS of people flocked to the Blaston Show as the sun shone on the 55th annual event.

Among the attractions at the agricultural show on Sunday were classic cars and tractors, horse and pony showing, livestock classes, dog showing, farm machinery displays, sheep shearing, rural crafts, trade stands and entertainment in the main ring.

Show director Oliver Lee said: “We are all thrilled with how the day went and are now calculating exactly how much we have made for our chosen charities, with significant proceeds set to go to LOROS and several other local charities.

“It was great to hear how much people enjoyed the show, particularly the new additions which included a brass band, a tug of war competition and a classic car run.

“Blaston Show is an extremely special event for the local community. The success of Sunday makes the phenomenal effort and support given by so many people extremely worthwhile.”
