Personal care assistants are needed
A recruitment drive for personal care assistants to work in the adult social care sector will be the focus of an event in Lutterworth next week.
The information event is being held at Lutterworth Library in George Street from 10am until 3pm on Friday, March 15.
The drive, aimed specifically at attracting more personal care assistants, is being organised by Leicestershire County Council as part of its work to recruit more skilled and motivated workers into the care sector.
Personal assistants offer care to individuals to support independent living or help families who care for a loved one.
They carry out tasks such as helping individuals with personal care, cleaning and housework, shopping, outings and day trips.
Anybody who attends the Lutterworth event will be able to speak to a county council advisor about becoming a personal assistant.
For more information about the event, or for more guidance on becoming a career as a personal assistant, phone the council on 0116 305 8011 or email supportwithconfidence@leics.gov.uk
