Parliament week comes to Harborough

STUDENTS across Harborough are being encouraged to take part in Parliament Week 2012.

Harborough MP Sir Edward Garnier is promoting an annual national week which aims to build greater awareness of and engagement with parliamentary democracy in the UK.
Sir Edward Garnier said: “I am pleased to support this initiative about how democracy affects citizens and how they can participate in it,” He added: “I often meet people in Harborough who are keen to find out more about Parliament and politics”.
Students can get involved by attending one of the many Paliament Week events planned nationwide and watching the live screening of the UK Youth Parliament from the House of Commons on Friday November 23.
Parliament Week takes place between November 19 to 25, information on the latest list of events can be found at www.parliamentweek.org.
