Olympian gives pupils medal winning advice
Bronze medal winning Hannah Macleod with Principal of Lutterworth College Andrew Cooper
AN OLYMPIC occasion saw students from a Lutterworth school come face to face with a bronze medal winning hockey player.
Hannah Macleod of the Team GB Hockey team, who was on the team that won a bronze medal during the London 2012 Olympic Games, visited Lutterworth College.
She gave an inspiring talk about her time in the Olympic Village and how she worked hard to achieve her goal.
Hannah went into an A-level PE lesson and spoke to students there about sport.
Charlie Preston (15), said: “It was inspiring to meet and hear the story of a local Olympic athlete.
“It was really interesting and it’s not every day you get to meet someone who has won an Olympic medal, especially when the Olympics were in our own country.
“I especially enjoyed getting to wear the medal and its a photo I will keep forever.”
Lutterworth College PE teacher Michael Skubala said it was great to have Hannah chat to students at the school.
He said: “It’s really good to get a dedicated athlete to share her experiences. These types of people can really inspire pupils to do the best they can in all areas of their lives not just sport.”
Lutterworth College thanked Hannah and Leicestershire and Rutland Sport for helping to inspire a generation.
