A new chapter in Market Harborough’s storied Rotary Club history has been written with the inauguration of the Welland Valley Rotary Club.

The new club, a daughter of the town’s existing club, was officially launched on Monday, January 28.

It will hold its meetings over breakfast at 8am
every Monday at the Angel Hotel in Harborough’s High Street.

President Gabrielle Belford said: “We wanted to expand the appeal of the club and also give those wanting to join Rotary an option to meet before the working day started.

“We have members from a wide variety of work: from start-ups to established professions, but everyone wants to get involved in helping social causes,
and change lives in communities.”

There to welcome the new club were Rotarians from surrounding clubs in Harborough, Kibworth & Fleckney, Melton and Melton Aurora, along with president of Rotary International Britain and Ireland John Minhinick and district governor Chris Chew.

If you would like to join the new club, help out in the community or hear some of the speakers lined-up, visit the website www.wellandvalleyrotary.co.uk.
