Motorists are warned over road closure – for 18 months

DRIVERS are being warned about a six-week road closure in Kibworth – which could happen at any time in the next 18 months.

Highways bosses at County Hall have granted a road closure for Main Street in Kibworth Harcourt so contractors can carry out gas mains replacement work.

But the council said it could not clarify when the work would take place, beyond saying it would be at some point in the next 18 months.

The order will be in place from May 7.

A spokesman for the highways department said a press release will be issued about two weeks before the work starts.

The diversion route will be via Albert Street, Marsh Drive and Leicester Road.
