Mobile needed as pupil numbers rise

A VILLAGE primary school has applied for a five-year extension on the use of a mobile classroom unit.

The two classroom mobile was installed at Kibworth C of E Primary School in 2004 in response to Department for Education guidelines on the amount of teaching space required per pupil.

The school is increasing a further increase in pupil numbers over the next five years as a result of new housing developments in Kibworth.

It has applied to Harborough District Council for planing permission to allow the unit, which contains two classrooms,, two store rooms and toilets, to stay open to 2017.
