Learn all about bees at market

SHOPPERS can learn about the plight of the humble bumble bee at Lutterworth Farmers’ Market this Saturday.

A stall is being set up at the monthly market where people can learn more about the hard-working insects.

Sue Turner, from Getting Lutterworth Growing, is one of the organisers. She said: “Bees may be small but they are an important link in the food chain.

“Strawberries, tomatoes, apples and pears and many other of our favourite foods need bees and other pollen carriers to grow.

“Unfortunately bees are in serious trouble and their numbers have almost halved in the past 50 years.

“Visit Lutterworth Farmers’ Market on the Town Hall car park between 10am and 12 noon and learn more about what you can do to help them.”
