Harborough woman’s Mastermind bid

AN ENCYCLOPEDIC knowledge of pop band Duran Duran helped a Harborough woman to a win on the quiz show Mastermind.

Kathryn Palmer sat in the famous black chair to face questions from John Humphrys for the programme, broadcast on BBC2 on Friday.

She amassed an impressive 16 points in the first round, answering questions on her specialist subject, Duran Duran.

A further 15 correct questions in the general knowledge round helped her to the win.

Kathryn, whose occupation was given as archivist, will now go on to compete in the semi-finals.
