A GYM hosted a ‘wear your colours day’ to encourage people to talk more and to raise money for charity on Monday and Tuesday.

Fitzone on the Riverside Industrial Estate, Harborough, held the event where people could wear the colours of their sports teams.Money was raised from the event by asking people wearing their colours to put a £1 in a jar.

A total of £80 was raised which will be spilt between The Squires Effect and the RSPCA.

The Squires Effect was chosen because Perry Crick, the owner of Fitzone knew Claire Squires, who tragically died in the London Marathon earlier this year.

The RSPCA is the gym’s charity of choice.

Mr Crick said: “It added a bit of fun and banter to the gym.”

He said that people wearing their colours was a conversation starter and got people talking to one another.

Jason Earl, a gym member, said: “Fantastic gym, everything you need under one roof.

“The colours day was a great way of bringing the gym together to support two worthwhile causes.”

Fitzone is now planning an event to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in the near future.
