A WHISKY-tasting event that was organised by the mayor of Lutterworth went down a treat with tasters.

Rob Coleman, who became mayor in May, hosted the whisky-tasting evening at the Greyhound Coaching Inn in Market Street, Lutterworth.

The event that took place on Friday was to raise money for Cllr Coleman’s chosen good causes.

He is supporting the Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and the CAP money project during his year as mayor.

Cllr Coleman said: “This event made over £420 for our appeal and we are now over the £2,500 mark for the year.

“My own thanks go to Neil who donated both his time and his own whisky stock for the evening and of course the Greyhound who donated the room free of charge.”

Future fundraisers include the Whittle evening on September 26th.
