GARDENS opening in Gumley have raised £430 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
More than 500 people came to see the ten gardens that were opened to everyone to have a look round at the event.
There were various stalls with cakes, plants, sweets, toys and second-hand books.
The stalls helped raise money for the roof fund at St Helen’s, the village’s parish church.
The village hall was transformed into an English tea shop serving cream teas and ploughman’s lunches to visitors coming to Gumley for the event.
St Helen’s also hosted an art exhibition.
The highlight of the morning was Radio Leicester’s weekly treasure hunt, finishing in the village with the prize being found hidden in the church.
All this hard work on the day meant that on Saturday at the village’s barbecue, a donation of £430 was presented to air ambulance representative Ivan Ball.
