A food quarter event held at Simply Simon’s Delicatessen and Bistro last night was a huge success.

People flooded into the venue for the second event by the Food Quarter which is made up of Duncan Murray Wines, Simply Simon’s, Bates Butchers and Hobbs Fishmongers.

At the taster evening last night there was an oyster expert challenging the palette of the many visitors there to get ideas for Valentines Day.

There was an array of interesting products including chocolate balsamic, low alcohol strawberry fizz, the popular oysters and a great deal on rump steaks.

Hampers are being put on by the Food Quarter for Valentines Day and one was won on the night by Jon Pollard who donated the funds made from the raffle to a charity for dementia.

He said: “Great night, and winning the hamper was the perfect ending too for me!”
